Number one means more publicity, can affect some music lovers to think that maybe the album is really that great that no one should miss it, so it is a way to boost more sales. whatever it is, it is just a way for survival.

in a way, in my opinion, the company that commented the most over this issue is trying hard to make people think that they are noble to fight this, and some people will be proud of such actions, and will support that cd. This is just one approach to get sales too without having to spend money to BUY chart. And those people who are targeted, their fans will want to prove more, and may also buy MORE. MARKETING tactics, u see.

I can somewhat understand why some people felt that it is unfair to put in the 205k sold campus album into the chart. Some argued that the campus cd were sold at a cheaper rate to the event company, but have they thought of the price that the fans bought them? It cost NT400, which is higher than the normal price of the album sold in cd stores. But my guess was they suspected that all these albums were bought by event company, which indirectly means THEY bought all the albums but may not have sold ALL of them to fans hence the conclusion of buying chart. And these albums are not sold to fans. It could be true. Who knows except they themselves? But maybe they should see the number of campus concert they held, and do a count of the number of people who attend. Because, to attend the concert, u need to have the album bought from that campus.

Not sure of the other campus, at the very least. Mrs ashin3 and me can vouch for last year 6dec concert that at least 3000 odd albums were sold. cos i was number 3087 in queue, with mrs ashin3 and a taiwan friend behind me.

Evidence =

Aint saying that this honesty thing isnt good. Alot of talented artistes was unable to fulfil their dreams or let their voices be heard due to all these disgusting charts. But if some talented artistes or bands who do their own composition, need to resort to such a action, i really think it is sad. u use money to buy fans. What satisfaction can one get from it? No one appreciate the products in the end. Win it fair and square. Like Mrs monster say, it is the process that counts. And quality is what counts too.

But seriously, all these artistes should not come with freebies, or revised album (aka 改版). Cos these wont show how many people actually appreciate your efforts in this industry. And nowadays, there are too many of such things. Though freebies is a bonus thing for loyal fans, it is still somewhat abit of 不道德 to put more money into your pocket.

anyway, MAYDAY knows how to earn money from fans. Im a victim of these marketing strategies. The number of albums i bought is pretty scary.

2 taiwan versions (one of which is for taiwan campus concert, the other one was cos of the short novel freebies). 2 singapore version (the enlongated one), cos i need the singapore version to attend Singapore 1st ever outdoor concert and i bought one for my friend cos of the concert tickets too. Anyway, i sold MY singapore version to my cousin. So im still left with 3.

so u see how marketing works? wth.
luckily i have yet to fall prey to SR. that would be worse.
